The FS700 Shooter is a compact, stable rig for FS700 users. The kits starts with our Mini Baseplate (standard 3/8 16 and ¼ 20 tripod mount underneath) with 12″ rods. The rods can slide back and forth to accommodate different lenses and accessories by flipping the red levers at the side of the plate. Our comfy shoulder pad also slides on the rods for comfort and ease of use. A 7lb weight sits behind the shoulder pad for counterbalance. Attached to the front of our rods is our FS700 Grip Relocator. The Zacuto FS700 Grip Relocator attaches to the 15mm rod with Zacuto Zwivel technology. The handle can be swiveled up and forward or straight down for individual comfort. The FS700 handle screws into the Relocator with a ¼ 20 screw and is secured in place with a standard Arri rosette. Moving camera controls to the handle means the kit can be shorter and the camera can be a little further back on your shoulder which helps with stabilization and weight distribution. The Sony removable grip features four easy-to-use buttons including Start/Stop, Photo, 4x/8x expandable focus, and push-button auto iris. The Sony grip comes with a 12 cable.
Your Zacuto DSLR Base Plate is a highly configurable base plate which is adjustable to accommodate tall and short body cameras and cameras with battery grips. It also has mounting points to attach just about anything. It comes with 2 black 3.5″ rods.
The DSLR Base Plate can accommodate 15mm rods on all 4 sides. On the front are 2 levels for rods. The top is for mounting follow focuses, matte boxes, zoom/focus motors and lens support if space allows. The bottom rods are primarily used for lens support and single or double hand grips. These rods can be locked via allen screw so as to not come loose if using only one side for a single hand grip. The rear rod holes are for rod extensions to support battery power, wireless plates, monitors and numerous other accessories that you may need when in a tripod configuration. The rod holes on the left and right sides are for mounting the gunstock and the offset shoulder pad and counterweight for hand held use. Also mounted on these side rods can be a top handle, monitor arms and the cage which would use both sides at the same time.
On the bottom of the DSLR Base plate are your standard ¼ 20 and 3/8 16 mounting holes for tripods, mono pods, steadicams, etc. The top plate is a quick release plate that with a twist of the red knob lifts straight up and off separating your DSLR with the Z-finder attached, from the rest of your rig. The red knob also gives you left/right movement to adjust the lens position. On the front of the base plate between the rods are 2 allen screws that are used to adjust the top plate vertically. The vertical adjustment is to adjust for different camera body sizes and maintain the proper lens height.
|The EVF Standard Mount is used to mount the EVF onto the Zacuto DSLR Baseplate. It includes a 4.5 F/F rod that attaches to 15mm rod hole on the side of the DSLR Baseplate and a Z-Mount Zwivel. The Z-Mount Zwivel is a 15mm to 15mm rod connector that allows you to attach a vertical rod or the included EVF pan and tilt mount to the horizontal rod coming out of the side of the DSLR Baseplate. Attached to the vertical EVF pan and tilt mount is Zacuto’s Zicro Mini. This allows you quickly release the EVF from the EVF Standard Mount with the flip of the lever. The pan and tilt allows you to adjust the angle of your EVF to the desired position. |
If you are looking to mount the EVF to another manufacturer’s rig check out the EVF Rod Mount.
The 1/4 20″ Lens Support uses a 1/4 20″ screw to screw directly into a variety of lenses for more support. This lens support clamps to the rods from underneath so it can quickly be taken off the rods. The middle rod that attaches to the lens has vertical adjustment, if needed (please select the rod size below). Only thumb screw tightening is necessary, no tools required. This lens support can be used with a variety of rod sizes. Please select the rods that are being used below for the q-mount.

The anti-fog protective covers offer anti-fog and protection for your Z-Finder Pro and V2 lens. These covers are expendable* as customers may lose, scratch or damage these covers over time. They are meant to give you anti-fog and to help protect the actual lens on the Z-Finder. If your Z-Finder Pro and V2 did not ship with the anti-fog protective covers then you will need the Anti-Fog Protective Cover Upgrade Kit (pack of 3 with lens cap and eyecup) in order for them to work as the lens cap is slightly different than the one you have now.

The EVF Tri-Mount Kit gives the option to mount the EVF in 3 different ways. It gives you the option to use the EVF Standard Mount when shooting handheld (off the side of the Zacuto DSLR Baseplate), the Extender Viewfinder Mount when shooting on a tripod or dolly, or in quick release hotshoe mount configuration (see detailed images).
The Tri-Mount includes the EVF Standard Mount as well as a 7 M/F rod and a ZUD ¼ 20. The 7 M/F rod allows you to use the EVF in an extender viewfinder position. To use the extender viewfinder mount, remove the EVF Mount from the Z-Mount Zwivel, then screw the 7 M/F rod into the EVF Mount and then slide the Z-mount Zwivel wherever you like so that you can position your EVF to your desired position.
The included ZUD ¼ 20 allows you to free the camera and EVF from your rig and mount it quickly to the hot shoe mount of your camera. In order to use the quick release hot shoe mount effectively, the hot shoe mount included with the EVF should be mounted on your camera’s hot shoe adapter. Then screw the ZUD ¼ 20 into the hot shoe mount and leave that on your camera’s hot shoe adapter. You can then quickly release or attach the EVF from either the Standard Mount or Extender Viewfinder mount with a flip of the lever. This is essential for releasing your camera as well as your EVF from your rig in a matter of seconds.
The Gorilla Plate Adapter centers the tripod holes on the bottom of the gorilla plate. The Gorilla Plate Adapter is used in conjunction with the Zacuto Gorilla Plate. The Gorilla Plate adapter is needed to center the lens and camera between the rods if you are using a Z-Finder Pro with another manufacturer’s rod support system supporting follow focuses and matte boxes.
Note: A height adjustable matte box is needed if using a matte box with the Gorilla plate on another manufactures plate system unless their plate system is height adjustable like the Zacuto DSLR Baseplate.
The Gorilla Plate Adapter comes with a longer 1/4 20″ screw that will replace the smaller 1/4 20″ screw that comes with the Gorilla Plate. You will need to take your screw out and use the longer one provided with the adapter to attach your camera to the plate.
Re-route and protect your HDMI cable and equipment from unnecessary strain with this standard (big) HDMI right angle male to female adapter. The fixed right angle position not only gives you more space between the EVF and camera but it gives you a sturdier connection and prevents your cable from becoming loose, ensuring you have the best data signal transmission possible. This right angle HDMI adapter also converts any cable you are using to offer a 9.5mm – 10mm insertion, the ideal insertion for use with the Zacuto EVF HDMI ports.
Omni-directional hotshoe ball mount is perfect for mounting a Zacuto EVF to a camera hotshoe. Quick locking mechanism keeps ball mount firmly in place. One flip of the lever releases the ball to get the perfect angle for your shot. Comes with a standard ¼ 20 male screw on top. Can be mounted on any accessory with corresponding ¼ 20 female screw hole.

Z-Bands are an option for the Zacuto Z-Finder. The Z-Bands are elastic rubber bands to help hold the Z-finder in place. They are not a way to hold the z-finder on the camera. The Z-Bands are just a security measure to hold the z-finder in place in case of accidental bumping just like the lanyard. The mounting frame and the Z-Bands must be used together. The Z-bands include 4 red aluminum balls and two elastic bands.
PLEASE NOTE: The Z-Bands will not work with the Canon 7D due to the different shape and curvature of the camera. They may work if you have a quick release adapter underneath the camera, which will allow the bands to wrap around. Please call us if you have any questions about this.
Designed and manufactured by Zacuto. Made in the USA. Zacuto lifetime warranty.
This frame is for use small bodies DSLR’s with 3.2 screens such as the Canon 5D MIII and Nikon D800. This Frame will not work if you are using a battery grip with your camera. For that you will need a battery grip frame for 3.2″ screens which we are still working on. We are also working on the 3.2″ frame for Tall Bodied Cameras and a 3.2″ Adhesive Frame.
The Z-Finder Aircraft Aluminum Frame must be used in conjunction with the Gorilla plate. The Z-Finder frame attaches to the Gorilla plate with two thumb screws; the Gorilla plate is attached to the bottom of your camera. The frame has a rubber coating on the end which stays against the LCD screen with pressure. The connection between the Z-Finder and frame is a snap fit. The Z-Finder snaps into the frame and can quickly snap off for going between video and photos. To release the frame from your camera, you must un-do the thumb screws and slide the frame off.
You’ve been asking for it, and here it is! The Z-Finder Dust Cover! The secure Z-Finder Dust Cover snaps onto the body of your Z-Finder and protects the inside from dust and debris. It’s easy to take on and off and it’s great for shooting outside and traveling. A must have for any Z-Finder user.
